At Pickering Denture Clinic, we provide a variety of services to help create and maintain a healthy mouth.

COMPLETE/PARTIAL DENTURES

We offer two grades of dentures: Standard and Premium.

  • Standard Dentures:
    Standard dentures are designed using basic tooth shapes and shades. Standard dentures should usually be replaced within 5 to 7 years.
  • Premium Dentures:
    Premium dentures are designed using higher-grade teeth that look more natural and have superior wear resistant, whereby lasting longer.

IMPLANT RETAINED DENTURES

Implant dentures are the best solution for those with little or no gums resulting from resorbtion (shrinking). Implants overcome the instability of a loose denture and eliminate sore/irritated gums. Implant dentures have been in use since the 1960’s with very high success rates. Patients that have chosen implant retained dentures praise that they are the closest thing to having natural teeth and wish they had done the procedure years ago.

TEMPORARY IMMEDIATE DENTURES

Temporary immediate dentures are placed immediately after natural teeth are extracted. They are typically worn for six months to a year, while the gums are healing and shrinking. During that time, the dentures will need adjusting. At the Pickering Denture Clinic, we offer adjustments at no extra charge. Once the healing process is complete, new permanent dentures will be constructed.

REPAIRS AND RELINES

With our on-site lab, we are able to fix a broken denture (depending on the severity) in about an hour!

Relining is when we add a completely new fitting surface to the denture. This becomes necessary when the gums that are supporting the denture, shrink. Unfortunately, shrinking gums will occur for the rest of your life. Weight loss can even have an effect on the shape of your gums. The reline procedure can be done within a day.

REBASING

This is the process of replacing the worn or ill-fitting acrylic base of the denture, providing a more stable foundation without replacing the teeth. This can also be completed within a day.

FIBERFORCE REINFORCEMENT

Fiber Force is a unique reinforcement technology that can be incorporated in new dentures. A Fiber Force reinforced denture is more than 300% stronger than a typical acrylic denture. It does not increase the weight or thickness of the denture and is virtually invisible. This process does not delay the time required to make the denture and only adds a small percentage to the overall cost.

SOFTLINING

This is the procedure of placing a cushion lining, usually on a lower denture, to help alleviate sore gums. Softlining will not stop a denture from moving around but will make it more comfortable when it does. The lining will usually last 2 to 3 years and can be replaced.

DENTURE/ORAL EXAMINATION

Over time, the mouth naturally changes and your denture wears. To ensure your dentures are fitting and functioning properly, you should visit your Denturist on an annual basis.

HOUSECALL SERVICES

If a clinic visit is difficult, for whatever reason, the Pickering Denture Clinic will gladly come to you. We provide house call services in hospital, nursing, retirement and private homes.

SPORTS GUARDS

Custom fitted sports guards provide protection for your teeth and mouth. They absorb the impact that may cause a concussion or a broken jaw. They should be worn in any physical activity that has the risk of head contact. A professionally fitted sports guard will not interfere with your breathing. We can even make them fit over braces. We also have a variety of colours to choose from.
